Club Membership Fees
Club membership is £25 per year for adults and £20 per year for juniors.
The adult membership also includes annual membership of Little Stoke Social Club (LSSC), and the junior membership includes annual membership of LSSC for a parent/ guardian. You will be given a LSSC member's card, which entitles you to discounted drinks from the bar, and allows you to attend LSSC for non-chess events if you choose to.
Club membership is discounted by £5 per year if the adult or junior’s parent/guardian has already joined LSSC separately and paid that year’s LSSC membership.
We know it's a commitment to sign up for a new club before you've given it a try. New players are allowed a couple of taster sessions at the club before deciding whether to join.
We don't take membership payments via this website. If you would like to join the club, please speak to our club treasurer.
ECF Membership Fees
To represent the club in the rated events, you will also need to join the English Chess Federation (ECF). Bronze membership is sufficient for representing a club in the Bristol & District Chess League, but most individual tournaments charge Bronze members an additional entry fee. If you are planning to play in individual tournaments, then Gold ECF membership works out cheaper in the long-run.
You do not need to join the ECF if you only want to play social chess at the club, and don't wish to play in the rated events.
